Proliant ML350 and Smart Array 641(PCI-X / 133 MHz)
Hi, there
We have bought two ML350 servers and we were expecting the Smart Array Card 641 (PCI-X/ 133MHz)on the PCI-X slot 64/133, however, in both the cards were on the 64/100 slot. We were wondering if this is correct or if it's just a mistake.

Re: Proliant ML350 and Smart Array 641(PCI-X / 133 MHz)
Andy:
That is fine if the card is in the 64/100 slot. it will stillwork and operate fine.
- but if you want you can move it to the PCI-X / 133 slot for best performance.
Expansion Slots in the server Six Total.
4) PCI-X slots support
64-bit/133MHz (1)
64-bit/100MHz (2)
64-bit/66MHz PCI-X (1) (Array model has 0 available)
2) PCI-E which support up to 8x PCI-EXPRESS expansion boards
Bus speed on the card is:
64-bit, 133-MHz PCI-X (1 GB/s maximum bandwidth)
-where you should have it in the 64-bit/133MHz (1) on the server for the best performance.
Regards,
Tarek.
