RAID status change
This morning, my Proliant ML330 G3 server reboted itself, and now I have the following in the system event log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Distributed Link Tracking Client
Event Category: None
Event ID: 12507
Date: 9/26/2006
Time: 7:38:07 AM
User: N/A
Computer: HDDC1
Description:
The volume ID for E: has been reset, since it was a duplicate of that on C:. This volume ID is used by Distributed Link Tracking to automatically repair file links, such as Shell Shortcuts and OLE links, when for some reason those links become broken.
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Storage Agents
Event Category: Events
Event ID: 1187
Date: 9/26/2006
Time: 7:38:31 AM
User: N/A
Computer: HDDC1
Description:
ATA RAID Logical Drive Status Change. ATA RAID logical drive number 4 on the "CSB-6 Ultra ATA-100 IDE RAID Controller" in slot 0 has a new status of 3.
(ATA logical drive disk status values: 1=other, 2=ok, 3=degraded, 4=rebuilding, 5=failed)
This server has two hard drives in it that are mirrored.
Can anyone point me to information on how to determine what problem there is and how to trouble shoot this? Thanks.

Re: RAID status change
Hi
It looks like that one of the harddisk is going failed.
Look at the controller configuration.
You'll see if the RAID are ok or degraded.
you can also see which harddisk has failed.
Change this harddisk, make a new scan over the harddrives. The new one is now in a RAID 0 Array. Change the new drive to a HotSpare and now say to the degraded array -> Rebuild
