RE: Processor revision differences

I have a proliant 1600r. I have installed dual processors. Windows 2000 system info tells me that the processor revisions are different. The processors are the same speed(500MHz). How do I correct this? Does HP have drivers or do I have to go to intel?

George:

If the stepping version is different, there is not much you can do. It is best to try and match your processor's model, frequency and stepping version as there is no guarantee that unlike procs will work together. No driver either that I am aware of.

Just because 2 processors are the same speed does not mean they are identical. (Thanks Intel!)

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I knew that but I just wanted to confirm it.
