ROMPaq SP19682

Hi -

I would like to convert the multiple floppies for this SP into a single CD/DVD. Is that possible? Has anyone attempted to run the executable under some type of programatic control for some type of silent execution?

Thanks in advance for any help...

Regards - Richard

Re: ROMPaq SP19682

hi,

r u referring to this ROMPaq:

http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17149.html

under "Installation", it seems that 15 1.44MB diskettes r required.

i guess why they do not allow silent installation is that they would like u to monitor the process till it is completed.

Have you considered using the ProLiant Firmware Maintenance bootable CD? It flashes drives, but I can't say for sure whether all of the drive models supported by the SP are in the ProLiant Firmware Maintenance CD. I use it with ProLiant DL/ML (G2, G3, and G4)models.

Re: ROMPaq SP19682

Thank you all for the responses. I am unable to use the FW CD because I have a large number of deployments that receive updates to a number of components (HD firmware being one). It is a requirement that these updates (OS components, drivers, firmware, etc.) be under programmatic control and with no user involvement (e.g. appliance model of deployment). Therefore I need a mechanism that will allow this possibility.

As a side note, I was indeed able to generate a bootable CD with all the contents from the floppy set. This was a nice experiemnt, but does not solve the complete issue. I need still need a mechanism that will run under Win32 (protected mode) that will upgrade the firmware.

If someone has some suggestions, I am all ears.

Thanks again for the input thus far...
