RedHat 3 ES installation failure on DL360 & DL380 G4's
Each of these machines generates a "No hard drives have been found" error during RH installation. I have attempted installation using a driver disk with the latest Hp drivers for the 6i controller, but receive an error stating that no relevant device drivers are found on the disk.
The drives are recognized from DOS and during Windows 2003 Server installations.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: RedHat 3 ES installation failure on DL360 & DL380 G4's
Those drivers on the diskette are for Windows only. In order to force some hardware working under Linux, the driver must be either compiled directly into the kernel or attached as a kernel module. Try to boot using different kernel with SCSI support. You can find it on the CD, look for it in the directory with floppy images.

Re: RedHat 3 ES installation failure on DL360 & DL380 G4's
Here is a URL to the drivers and software you will need:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/101_5561.html
Also, are you configuring the SmartArray controller with the logical volumes prior to installing the O/S? You can use the SMartStart CD (Array Configuration Utility) to assist you in this or you can use the ORCA to do this.

Re: RedHat 3 ES installation failure on DL360 & DL380 G4's
This issue was resolved by downloading the RedHat EL 3 Update 4 iso's. My understanding is that the DL-G4's require update 3 or above.
