SA E500 firmware problems & data loss
I had an E500 controller with a firmware revision somehwere in the 1's connected in my DL140G3. 1.32?? maybe.
This array was connected to an external SAS array containing 4 x 1 TB drives in RAID 5.
All was well except the battery wouldnt charge. On the advice of HP tech support, I upgraded the firmware on the controller to 5.32. Upon reboot the controller claimed the drives had been re-arranged and couldnt find several of them. To cut a long story short, nothing has made this controller see all 4 drives again, although a P411 (1.46) will see them as unassigned). I am looking for the original firmware in a last ditch attempt to recover the data I had across this array (2TB of hyper-V servers!). Does anyone have any suggestions or ways to recover the data? My best guess is to find a copy of the old 1.x firmware and try that, but HP say they cant find it and 4.12 is the earliest (which doesnt work). Help!? TIA. Jo.
