SATA expansion for LH4r D6974A

I have a LH4r Netserver D6974A with 4x P3 500mhz and 1024mb of RAM, I'm wondering if there are any options I can look at to add some SATA drives to the system, it currently has 2 SCSI hotswap cages that I'd like to replace with a SATA cage, is anything like that possible?

I just need to find a way to add 6 or so SATA drives to the system, otherwise it looks like I'm buying another system later on.

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: SATA expansion for LH4r D6974A

Hi Philip,

I'm not sure if any such thing exists. I can tell you that there is no such device made specifically for Netservers since SATA drives are not supported options for Netservers. If you find a cage, there's no guarantee that it will fit, if the screw holes will be lined up, or if the power connectors will match. You will most certainly need to install a SATA Controller card which I still can't guarantee will work. Currently, if the server has 2 cages, you can install upto 12 SCSI Drives and there is a built-in RAID controller on the server that you can use.

Sorry I couldn't be more help,
