SCSI Backplane swap on DL380 G3

I have two drive bays where the LED diodes broke off the board. The server and raid controller works perfect. Server is installed and has been in service for a few months. I have since ordered a replacement SCSI Backplane, and now want to swap it in. I know how to physially swap the board, my question is will the RAID configuration get wiped or blown away when I swap the Backplane Card in?

Thanks in advance.

Re: SCSI Backplane swap on DL380 G3

John:

Your RAID configuration is stored on your hard drives. You can take all of your drives, put them into a totally different Dl380g3 (or g4/g2) and the server would boot up. There are some restrictions with different models, but in your case... you are just swapping the backplane, not the drives or the Smart Array.

Short Story: The RAID configuration will not get wiped out.

Thanks. I've never had to do this before I just wanted to make sure.
