Seagate SAS HDD not seen in HP Micro Server Proliant Gen8
Hello there,
I recently purchased a Micro Server Proliant Gen8 and was planning to use it with Seagate Constellation ES drives (ST3500414SS).
These drives are perfectly working with an Adaptec ASC-1405 but are not recognized by the new HP Server.
For testing purpose, I tried using some normal SATA drives and these are being seen without any problem.
Of course, I could use the Adaptec controller with a low profile bracket but I was planning to use the PCIex port for other purpose.
Should I fear some incompatibility problem here ?
Any hope on some firmware upgrade that may correct this problem ?

Re: Seagate SAS HDD not seen in HP Micro Server Proliant Gen8
The embedded controller in the Gen8 MicroServer is a SATA controller. It does not support SAS drives.
