Smart Array B120i SSD TRIM
Hi,
Could anyone advise how or if the Smart Array B120i in a HP Gen8 Microserver handles TRIM with SSD hard drives in general or in a mirror?
Thanks
Justin

Re: Smart Array B120i SSD TRIM
Hi,
Some where I read that HP SSD do not have TRIM command and instead they use "over-provisioning" and "wear leveling" techniques.

Refer to page#5 in the below document.

As far as I understand, TRIM must be supported by Smart Array firmware and SSD firmware.
Thank You!

Re: Smart Array B120i SSD TRIM
Hi,
My reply was about HP SSD but in case of Intel SSD, even then the command has to go through HP Array Controller, so I guess it will not work.
You can try at your choice.
