Stop Error 0x0000007E in ML370G5 Proliant Server

Greetings,

Dear all, I purchased a new ML370G5 Proliant Server for the purpose of a new Oracle DB Server. I have 2 drive cages each connected to a P400 SA (512MB BBWC) card.

I have installed Windows 2003 Svr (32bit) as its OS. And update all HP drivers/support pak accordingly.

However, i do get the Stop Error 0x0000007E whenever i do a restart of the server. Sometimes it just happen out of the blue. I tried to look for similar error in HP (and even google it), it doesnt seem to tell me much except that this error occurred when there is a hardware error. A check on my Management Log showed nothing amiss.

I would therefor appreciate any advice on hw to resolve this.

Meanwhile, i am in the process of reinstall the OS.

Thanks

Hi,

Please downgrade the NIC drivers < v3.0.5.
This looks like a 'general' issue with PSP 7.80 on G5 machines x86/x64 sp1/sp2. I opened a case with HP NL and they advised me this as well.
You must also downgrade the HP Network config tool because it will complain about it needs the 3.0.5 drivers.

Arian

Hi Arian, thanks for your prompt reply. So its the NIC that causes the BSOD. No wonder i have nt been able to isolate the problem.

Really thanksful for your help as well as the link to the other post pertaining to the same problem.

Thanks.
