UID display after new drive in?
so it's common practice where i work to turn the uid on which lights up the bad drive for the remote hands to perform a hard drive swap if necessary.
does placing the good drive in and the raid rebuilding successfully shut the uid off or do we / the technician have to turn the light off?
thanks

Re: UID display after new drive in?
Hi,
Replacing the failed drive will not turn off the blue UID light that come on behind the drive slot once the raid has rebuilt.
I have my blue UID lights to go off when I exit my "Smart Storage Manager" but you can set it to turn off after 1 hour, 4 hours, or 24 hours.
The UID light has nothing to do with the rebuid function at all.
