UnixWare 7.1.1 during intensive disk I/O the system dieds

LH4 1.2GB RAM
4 Xeon penthium 3
8 HD 18GB 10000rpm RAID 5
HP driver Symbios for UnixWare 7.1.1

During intensive HD I/O sometimes the system stop to write data on HDs and the NOS collapse.
