Upgrading Hard Drives in ML350 Servers

We have several ML 350 servers that we are in need of Hard Drive upgrades. The server have Smart Array 532 cards running Raid 5. I know you can swap out the drives one at a time to rebuild the data in the new drives. At 20 minutes a Gb to migrate, it will take 1.5 - 2 days per server to complete. Is there a way to install and configure a complete set of new drives on the array and move the data all at once?

Drive migration and array expansion as you suggest is done all the time. You will need to review the documentation available to familiarize yourself with what is required to expand the O/S (if that is your intent)

The alternative is also available to backup all your data and such to tape (or other media) and rebuild the server. Then, once the server is built with new disks, you restore the data from tape.

Best case usually is you double the amount of time to restore what it took to backup.
If it takes 12 hours to backup a server, then it should take 24 or more hours to restore.
You weigh the cost of downtime to restore the system offline... or, do an array expansion online. I can guarantee that the server will take MUCH longer to expand online than to restore from backup. So, if you decide to expand, be sure to do that offline.
