Upgrading a ProLiant 1600

Hi, I'm setting up an old ProLiant (P08) server for testing, would like to upgrade it but I'm not sure on specs etc.

It's a single processor PIII 512k cache 500Mhz, with only 256Mb memory, anyone advise me what's involved in adding a second processor and more memory, what memory specs do I need for this machine

Thanks in Advance
Brad

Brad,

You can also try Chestnut Micro (www.chestnutmicro.com) or Ambry (www.ambry.com) for older ProLiant parts. Usually as long as you can pull a part number out of the QuickSpecs or maintenance manual, you should be able to get them. I like Chestnut Micro because you can usually determine whether you're getting new, unopened box, pulled or refurb.
