Virtual Sizing on NetRaid with Win2k upgrade
Running LH4 with RAID 5 (Virtual sizing enabled)
Question: When I upgrade to Windows 2000 can Virtual sizing be turned off with no problems? My understanding is if Virtual Sizing is enabled under Windows 2000, you must keep the disc a "basic" disc.
HP's rep was unsure??

Re: Virtual Sizing on NetRaid with Win2k upgrade
There are several ways to use Virtual sizing.
In w2k I'll prefer to leave it off because it doesn't work that way.
The best ways to expand your volume in w2k are:
- add the extra capacity as a mounting volume
inside a known logical drive
- backup you current logical drive
destroy it
create new (bigger) logical drive
restore backup
If you're mounting a volume to a known logical drive within w2k then you need a dynamic disk!
I'll hope this clarify's is!
