Windows NT 4.0 upgrade with SmartStart
I have SmartStart 3.10B which was used to install NT 3.51 on the server. I also have a purchased upgrade from Microsoft for NT 4.0. When attempting to install on a blank (formatted) server it requests the media for the previous version of NT Server. The SmartStart disks do not work for this. Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Windows NT 4.0 upgrade with SmartStart
Hi Richard,
There's no easy way (I know of) around this. Upgrade media is designed to upgrade an existing installation. It checks to see if a valid earlier OS is on the machine. If it can't find one, you need to load the media when asked.
From memory, any previous version of Windows NT will suffice. Was there one for the 3.51 installation?

Think what you can do...
