accessing DL185 and DL385 without PS2 keyboard

due to trying to use a KVM console connection with bent pins, I managed to foul up ps2 ports on two servers.

I have a usb keyboard connected directly now, but I can't seem to access start up bios/array functionality - server does not respond.

if I use SmartStart CD, keyboard works.

any suggestions, or am I SOL ?
