Victor,

I am not clear on what you are trying to do, please explain in detail.

It sounds as if you are trying to add a new hard drive and make it part of the same logical unit (all c:). Is this correct?

Re: hp netserver e 60 new scsi hd

Victor,

You can attach multiple drives on the same SCSI cable. Unlike ATA/IDE drives, they are not limited to just two. Depending on the cable, you should be able to add up to 7 drives on the same SCSI chain (bus). You will need to make sure that each drives is assigned a unique SCSI ID Number. The SCSI controller is also assigned a SCSI ID # (usually "7"). One you add the drives, the OS will recognize the drive. You will then need to format the drive in order to make it useable. You can use either the OS utilities or the controller may also have some utilities to format the drive. If you want to make it part of the same logical unit, you will need to have a RAID controller or you could use a software or(OS) based solution. Of course, the RAID option is preferred and performs better. The RAID controller may have some utilities to add the drive to the same logical unit, if not you could use some 3rd party software or do the following:

1) Backup all the data
2) Re-build your array with both drives. This may wipe out all data
3) Restore data (if necessary).

Hope this helps.
