hp server dl 380 g5

we just buy new server dl 380 g3 and when i start hp server by smartstart 7.70 and i start confgure smat array p400 controller ican't find max capcity for hard drivers i just found 559929 mb. the srver has 5 drivers every one has 146 gb so how can i confgure the server with max cabcity 768 gb?

Did you use smart start to configure the array as RAID 0 with all 5 drives? If so, you will should have the capacity of all 5 drives. Does the array should all 5 drives, or only 4, suggested by the 558 Gb total you mention. You should see how many drives will be supported in the chassis arrangement of the array controller. It could be that only 4 of the 6 slots can be in the one array.

Hi Abdullah,

If you have 5 hard drives, what you are describing is exactly how RAID 5 works. One disk worth of space is providing you redundancy in case of failure.

If you want to get 768GB, you will not have RAID5, you will have a dangerous RAID0.

Are you sure aout your model number? The DL380 G3 is an old server, you couldn't possibly have bought it "new".

As 5x146GB is 730GB, you will not be getting 768GB out of this server without adding more disks.
If you want to get 730GB, you will not have RAID5, you will have a dangerous RAID0.

Finally, you are using an old version fo Smartstart. Download 7.91 and use that to ensure you have no other issues.
