proliant dl380 g5 freezes.Too low virtual memory
Hello
I'm using my proliant dl380 g5 as a terminal server,win2003 installed. Most of the time,i have 20 users conected and most of the applications are, internet explorer,outlook03,sql,access.I have 4 giga ram memory in this machine and frequently my server freezes for one or two minutes and come back to work when some of the users log off or stop their applications. How could i improve my virtual memory management? It doesn't sounds reazoneable that a machine like that has this kind of problems?
Thanks
Natan

Re: proliant dl380 g5 freezes.Too low virtual memory
In the bottom, right corner of Task Manager, what is the Commit Charge when the twenty users are active?
Is it running Windows Server 2003 x86 Edition or x64 Edition?
What size is the page file?
Is the page file on a dedicated array separated from the physical disks used by the operating system and apps?

Re: proliant dl380 g5 freezes.Too low virtual memory
Please consider setting a static page file size of 1.5 to 2 times of installed RAM. For example with 4GB RAM, set an 8GB page file.
The most important part is Commit Charge. How much of the 4GB RAM is being used?
