P600 and MSA70 - supposed to be a simple configuration but no go?

This was supposed to be a simple setup: MSA70 with bunch of drives connected to P600.

However P600 does not see any drives. The MSA70 is powered on; no error indication; all drives are plugged and spinning as they are supposed to with no indication of any abnormal condition.

However P600 reports that no configurable disks could be found:

Will appreciate any ideas as to what could be the cause of this issue? MSA70 if about half populated: 10 disks installed from slot 0 onward.

Thank you for any suggestions on this,

~B

hi,

Please check the battery/cache of the controller.

Please be sure that the controller and the MSA are running the latest FW.

Thank

Re: P600 and MSA70 - supposed to be a simple configuration but no go?

Yes they are running latest FW and no the controller doesn't just magically recognize when the physical batteries are swapped. There is no mechanical sensor on the PCB or optical sensor.

So one would think there is an electrical way the controller constantly pools the batteries to see if they are swapped and change the "battery has failed" status to something else... Well I doubt it

Therefore my question is how do you force the P600 to clear the "battery failed" message and do an actual electrical battery detection and an attempt to charge and then test the charge of the batteries?
