DVToolkit and DVConverter – Leveraging Custom Filter Detection in Your Network

MarthaAviles ‎05-28-2014 09:02 PM - edited ‎09-25-2015 08:22 AM

The HP TippingPoint Digital Vaccine Toolkit (DVToolkit) is a custom filter development tool that makes it possible to create proprietary security filtering sets and leverage your HP TippingPoint systems to best protect your corporate assets from attacks. Key features of the toolkit:

  • Craft custom filters that address threats unique to your business
  • Import open source rules (Snort signatures)
  • Significantly extend the value of your HP TippingPoint Next Generation Intrustion Prevention System (IPS) investments
  • Leverage a simple GUI and the power of the TippingPoint engine to create and deploy custom filters
  • Distribute filters across your network using the HP TippingPoint Security Management System (SMS)

The DVToolkit and Converter are designed for technical users of HP TippingPoint systems with experience at writing regular expressions. As such, HP TippingPoint accepts no responsibility for filters developed in the DV tool suite by non-HP personnel and recommends that any filters created be first deployed in a test environment.

Steve Povolny, HP Manager, TippingPoint Digital Vaccine (DV), offers a deep dive into the HP DV Toolkit in this comprehensive HP Education webinar.

If you have highly specialized needs for customized DV filters that require the services of DVLabs, contact your HP TippingPoint account representative for assistance. If you need assistance using the DVToolkit tools, contact Customer Support.
