2008 R2 and iLO power saving option

There's a lot being said at the moment about how 2008 R2 will consume less power on a server than any other OS due to better power control of the CPUs.
Does anyone know if this requires "OS Control" or "Dyanmic" in the iLO power saving settings?

Re: 2008 R2 and iLO power saving option

Use OS control for 2008 R2. The OS contains instrumentation to manage the power aspects itself.

The Dynamic mode allows the platform to automatically govern the system performance based on perceived load; if the load seems low, then the CPUs will be governed-down automatically. This happens without OS support and can be used in all cases. It is also acceptable with 2008 R2.

I was assuming it was OS control but wanted confirmation. Thanks.

I'll write a script to set this and post when I get the chance.
