Can't get virtual media in ILO to work on reboot

Hi, we have a ProLiant ML350 G5, we need to reboot the box remotely and run a password reset cd. With the physical media, it works like a charm, but when we try to use the virtual media function to either load the cd from my local drive or the iso, rebooting the server seems to ignore the virtual mounts and proceeds to load Win 2003 server. Any suggestions?

Hello nfernandez08,

Very 1st important thing to look into this is if Integrated Lights-Out Advanced Pack is installed as it provides following :
Virtual KVM graphical console
virtual media
power management and enterprise security.
and this is an Optional ProLiant Essentials Value Pack.

If this is not installed pls contact hp to get it or ur reseller.

But if it is installed please flash the iLO 2 firmware download the firmware cd 8.0 from below link :

I am sure this should work

Thanks Regards

Re: Can't get virtual media in ILO to work on reboot

hi nfernandez08

I think he already have ilo license Pack because he says that he loads iso/CDROM but they does not load so.... in case of not license he would say different thing

----------
install latest firmware and let us know 1.5 version
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib2/software1/sc-windows-fw-ilo/p308280587/v45691/

check also when you use virtual media load a CDROM or ISO when windows is loaded and check if you got a new unit on Windows
I mean F: - G: you know what I mean

Make sure there is not a CD media in the CDrom of the ML350.

Re: Can't get virtual media in ILO to work on reboot

Make sure that the virtual media is "connected" before rebooting the host.

Also make sure that USB is not disabled in host RBSU.

Also make sure that the boot order in host RBSU allows booting from CD.
