Re: Is it possible to boot to an ISO from Remote Insight Lights Out Edition II
Just be aware that the ActiveX Control has issues with IE8, so IE7 or below is the way to go here.
When remote consoling, hover near the top of the remote screen and a drop down like the remote desktop title comes down. From here you can mount an Image/DVD/Floppy etc. Reboot server from the power options on the same drop down menu and away you go.
However I am not too sure if you can use an Image over network link - you may have to have the image local to the machine to mount it in iLO
hope this helps.

Yes you can !
This feature is called Virtual Media. With this you can sit in US & update servers in Tokyo if you may. ;-)

Re: Is it possible to boot to an ISO from Remote Insight Lights Out Edition II
I have not worked with one of those boards in several years. I don't think it will boot an ISO image.
That said, you should be able to use the CPQIMAGE tool to creat a virtual floppy image of the ESX bootdisk.img file. Mount the virtual floppy and start the ESX install, pointing it to an FTP or HTTP source were it can get to the ESX bits.

If you look at the picture on page 55 of the document you referenced, under the CD-ROM section you can select the drive letter of the local CD-ROM drive on the machine your using to access RILOE. The image file button is located under virtual floppy.
