MS Infopath and hponcfg xml files

I took a .xml file that I have been using for our servers, and tried building a GUI for my files so that users would not put info that isn't required with MS office 2003's Infopath. I only wanted to show the users what they need. While this appears to work (the entered data is in there) the script get malformed (junk at the top of the script) and I get a version error and my settings don't get entered in when the script is run. Anyone know of a GUI tool that I can use or point me to an Infopath tutorial without me going through a million Google pages? Thanks in advance.

I also tried to strip out the junk at the top already and it doesn't seem to work.
