After that, i put it back into the proliant 8500 and it worked!!
Now, my next question... where the heck does the Virtual Power Button Cable go?? I cannot find any refernece to it in the proliant 8500 documentation.

Install Guide -> Remote Insight Lights Out Edition - Virtual Power Button for the ProLiant 8500 -> 192123-001 (PDF) 1926 KB OARS CDROM ...
Click 192123-001(Hyperlink) and press cancel,it'll open the pdf.

Can you access that pdf? After I hit cancel, it times out and I cannot get to the pdf.
Could you email it to me? Ive tried 2 machines here and cant get it.

depending on the processor speed,you can use either a
P/N 195254-B21 (split 4-pin cable) available as a spare kit P/N 195724-001 OR
P/N 160011-001 (4-pin cable) ships with RILOE kit.
If you don't have a cable shipped with the RILOE kit,then its a 195724-001 part.
