SSL Certificate for Domain Controller

Hi All,

Does setting up LDAP over SSL on a DC stop LDAP without SSL from working, or will both work happily together?

Regards,

Andrew

Re: SSL Certificate for Domain Controller

LDAP can work with SSL and without.
The difference is in the TCP port assignments (like http: 80 and https: 443)

389: LDAP default port
636: LDAP SSL-port

Whether the domain controller accepts non-SSL connections is separate from whether SSL is accepted or not.

I hadn't been able to find confirmation of that.

Thanks for the answer.
