Unauthorized, No Readable Roles trying to login RILOE II

Hi,

I had upgrade my RILOE II to firmware version 1.20 and configured using HP Lights-Out Migration Utility for the schema free AD integration.

However after complete the configuration, I'm still not able to logon using AD account. Error prompted out as "Unauthorized, No Readable Roles"

A proper group had been configured and exists in the AD and the account used to logon is a member of the group. The group and the account used to logon are in the same ou.

I specify the user Directory User Context 1 as the exact ou where the user account reside but error persist. Any ideas.

Re: Unauthorized, No Readable Roles trying to login RILOE II

What is the format of the login name you
are trying to use.
Is it
1.short name
Ex : sriv s
2.Distinguished name
Ex : CN=sriv s,CN=Users,DC=mycompu,DC=com
3.loginname@domain.com format
Ex : sriv@mycompu.com
4.Netbios name

Just to cross check whatever you have configured is correct,

Follow the steps below and check if the appropriate configuration is done in your setup.

1.Logon to RILOE-II with the appropriate login and password.
2.Click Administration->Directory settings.
3.Configure "directory settings" with appropriate parameters as under
1.Directory Server address
Ex : dlilo1.india.hp.com
2.LDAP port as "636".
3.Fill in appropriate "Directory User Context 1
Ex:CN=Users,DC=mycompu,DC=com
4.Click "Apply Settings" to save the directory settings.

5.Repeat "Step 2" to go back to directory
settings page.
4.Now click on "Administer Groups".
5.Select the appropriate group.
Ex : custom1
6.Fill in the Group distinguished name.
Ex : CN=newgroup,CN=Users,DC=mycompu,DC=com
NOTE : Please don't give any extra space.
7.Enable the appropriate access rights for this group.

8.Click on "Save Group Information" save the group settings.

Please ensure the following.
1.In windows Active directory setup
the same group(Ex:newgroup) exists.
2.User who tries to login to RILOE-II is
present in this group.

Re: Unauthorized, No Readable Roles trying to login RILOE II

Thanks by your reply, I read this response on other threads and I execute all stepts, then I posted this message. After execute all steps and trying Hp Lights-Out Migration Utilit also, the problem persists.
If I logon with the distinguishedName then the user logon and then logoff. If I logon with user\domain or @domain.com then error "Unauthorized, No Readable Roles" is showed.

Re: Unauthorized, No Readable Roles trying to login RILOE II

Please check if ...
* The distinguished name has greater than 40 characters.
* You are able to login with short name.
* You are able to login with distinguished name if and when distinguished name is less than 40 characters.

If you find that that the above statements are true in your case, then please wait for the next release of RILOE II firmware that fixes this issue.

Re: Unauthorized, No Readable Roles trying to login RILOE II

One more thing, please check if ActiveX is enabled in the browser.

ActiveX is required for the conversion of user name from netbios (domain\user format) and user@domain formats into Distinguished name format.

Check if you can login using the full name of the user(user properties as in Active directory server)

Re: Unauthorized, No Readable Roles trying to login RILOE II

Hi, thanks by your response. Certainly, with distinguished names of less than 40 characters it works. Netherless, with the same user usign @domain or domain\user format and with activex enabled the problem persists.
I will wait then until the new firmware version comes out to see if it corrects these problems
