iLO and NIC - Separate Entities?
I have a customer who has a server with a WAN side NIC and LAN side iLO. They recently had a security issue and as a result are looking in to absolutely every possiblity as to how this happened.
They need to officially rule out the possibilty that the iLO and NIC ports are related to each other, or could be used to pass data from one through to the other and vice versa.
So I wanted an official HP document / web page that stated something along these lines if here is one anywhere.
Anyone seen anything related to this anywhere on the net?
Thanks in advanced,

Re: iLO and NIC - Separate Entities?
I can't help much with the answer, but I can say that you will need to provide the specific model number of the server (and if its a blade - which enclosure and interconnect you are using).
On older servers its simple - they are separate, on some of the newer servers I believe the iLO NIC can be shared with the function of NIC2.

Re: iLO and NIC - Separate Entities?
They are a large organisation and have many Proliants, old and new and would like a answer to all of them.
But we are mainly talking about the DL380 G3 and the DL360.
When you say newer, do you mean G4 and above or is it not that simple?
Cheers for any info,
