What about glibc-patches? Redhat is a little farther on in its version the hpsossfl is.

The Kernelupdate needs RedHat-Updates (modutils for example) is it safe to update all RedHat-Patches without Redhat Kernel Updates?

It would be okay to apply RedHat 7.1 rpms to Secure OS software for Linux. Most rpms do not have a dependency on kernel rpms. During the test phase the rpm will list any dependancy needed.

Just a tip to everyone:

Do not try to update the kernelrpms without filesystem-2.1 and mkinitrd in the new version.

It took me quite some fiddling.

In general, you need to be very careful about resolving dependencies. Using --nodep can get you into trouble.
