Linux for Compaq D/380

We are in the process of setting up two Compaq D/380 as webservers and need to know what level is supported by the SAN or filber card in the SAN.

Re: Linux for Compaq D/380

My understanding is that Red Hat 7 thru 9 is fully supported on that server with Compaq/HP card and disk solutions.

You run into trouble when you start trying to cut corners and buy fibre cards that Red Hat hasn't tested yet.

I am fairly certain the same situation exists with some of the other big releases such as Debian and Suse.

Anyone have a link to a support matrix??

Hello!

All the big linux creators (RH, Mandrake, SuSe)
have good support for FC in the new realises,
you need to check that the card that you buy
they have support for.

Re: Linux for Compaq D/380

If you are going with RH, I suggest RH Enterprise Linux (http://www.redhat.com/software/rhel/)

You can check RH Hardware compatibility list here:

Re: Linux for Compaq D/380

I had trouble running Debian on the D/380 because of the card, but Redhat 7+ works just fine.
should work...
