Hi,
I need a version of ssh-2 to connect to a new hpux 11.i server. With my SuSe linux 8.0 it will not work do to version reasons (ssh told me when I tried to connect/ Could this really be a problem?).
What is the newest linux ssh version and how can I get it.
Thanks, Oliver

Re: Newer ssh version
Hi Oliver,
In my opinion the best thing to do is to download the latest source version on www.openssh.org and compile it on your own.
tar -xf
cd opensshdir..
./configure
make
make install
and play with it .. (ssh....)

Hello!
The newest version of ssh is 3.6.1
you can go to http://www.openssh.org/
The better thing for you is to get
the newest version from the site and
use it.

Re: Newer ssh version
There is actually an new version of ssh posted on the sites provided above.
Resist the temptation to use that especially if this is a production machine. Bleeding edge makes sysadmin's nuts.
I'm attaching a document on ssh that will make ssh more useful.
Also on the HP-UX side, make sure they are using Secure Shell 3.50 which has much faster public key exchange.
