C7000 Vlan Mode
I have a C7000 that I recently added two 6125G switchs to interconnect bay's 3 and 4. These to switches will be handling iSCSI traffic; I also have them in a IRF. I installed mezzanine cards in the 4 blade servers I have and I can see the network adapters in the OS and have given them IP addresses.
I created Vlan 51 and Vlan 52 Named them iSCSI_A and iSCSI_B and assigned on to Interconnect bay 3 and one to Interconnect bay 4.
The 5412zl has Vlan 51 one of the modules and Vlan 52 on the other module.
I have the switches in bay 3 and 4 connected to 5412zl that has two free switches modules. The MSA 2040 is also connected ot those two modules.
My question is do I need to enable Vlan Mode on the C7000? I think i do since the servers in the C7000 cant ping the MSA. However when I'm on the 5412zl it to can not ping the MSA, but the MSA can ping the gateway of the iSCSI network.
Will enabled Vlan Mode disrupt the current traffice going to the servers now?
Thanks,
Chris
