Was there a .TRC file generated with additional details?

Googled article on that message suggest it could be a log writer erroneously running out of memory. Had the system and database been up for a long time?

Basic error text: http://ora-00472.ora-code.com/

Maybe similar problem.

Mostly this will be an Oracle problem, so be sure to contact Oracle support and/or search Metalink

Re: Can anyone help me to understand this log of oracle database running on tru64 5.1 two node cluster.

Hi,

I have found this at metalink and I hope, it solves your problem.

greetings,

Michael

fact: Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition 8.1
fact: Oracle Parallel Server (OPS)
fact: Compaq Tru64 UNIX
symptom: Starting instance fails
symptom: Errors found in the alert.log
symptom: SSKGXP_IP: Primary interface down
symptom: location sskgxpmyip6
symptom: Lock Monitor tracefile contains errors
symptom: sskgxp_myip: ioctl failed with 6 for mc0
symptom: operation mc0
change: Compaq Tru64 UNIX 5.1A is installed.
cause: The device name of the memory channel adapter has changed from mc0
to ics0 starting with version 5.1A of Compaq Tru64. When trying to find the
interconnect adapter, it will fail because it default tries on the mc0 device
name.

fix:

An undocumented parameter has been introduced to specify which device to use.
Set the following parameter in the init.ora file, and restart the database:

_IPC_NET = ics0

In release 9i the TRU64_IPC_NET parameter has been introduced and should be
used instead of _IPC_NET.
