Re: Enabling or installing ssh in True64

If you use tru64 5.1b you already have it installed and enabled. To check the os version, use:

sizer -v

If you are using an older version, like 5.1A, you need to download the pack from the Tru64 download sections. Unpack and use the setld command to install the kit:

gunzip package.tar.gz
tar xvf package.tar.gz
cd package
setld -l kit

If you have an even older version, you should upgrade to 5.1, or install openssh.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: Enabling or installing ssh in True64

Hi William,

the above post is correct, this was the procedure I had to follow. ALthough, I would point out that I have had issues with the Tru64 implementation of SSH, when trying to use it in compatability mode, to scale back to SSH1, it does not seem to be able to do this very well, so if you are likely to need ssh1 protocol, then you may need to rethink

HTH

Re: Enabling or installing ssh in True64

ssh2 comes with Tru64 UNIX V5.1B.
ssh2 is available for download for V5.1 and V5.1A as a setld kit.
For Tru64 UNIX V4.0x and V5.0x nodes - free download of OpenSSH. OpenSSH supports both ssh-1 and ssh-2 protocols.
