HPUX-HIDS and system baselines
Does the HPUX-HIDS software provide the ability to create a (file)system baseline w/cryptographic hashes?
Thx.

Re: HPUX-HIDS and system baselines
Shalom,
The get teh software link below also includes user and configuration guides.
Might need to RTFM to get something that specific.

Re: HPUX-HIDS and system baselines
I already had the manual and didn't have time to go thru it. W/7 projects on my plate, there's little time for that. And isn't that what this forum is for: sharing information?
YOUR "RTFM" COMMENT IS RUDE AND ALSO AS UNPRODUCTIVE AS YOUR "GET THE MANUAL" ADVICE.
Perhaps it would be best to refrain from this type of response in the future.

Re: HPUX-HIDS and system baselines
You might want to consider using a file integrity checker like tripwire. See my reply dated "11-13-2006 07:03 AM" at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Security/Open-Source-Tripwire-now-available-on-HPUX-Internet-Express-7-0/m-p/3819017/highlight/true#M11853 (scroll down to the bottom of the page) for a comparison of HPUX HIDS and OpenSource tripwire available on HPUX Internet Expres (https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do%3FproductNumber%3DHPUXIEXP1131).
