How can I boot from cdrom and then load root disk?

Hi all,

I am looking to boot from the Tru64 v. 5.1B cd and then mount the root disk that is already setup. Basically we want to boot from cd and mount the /usr file system that is on the root disk.

Thanks,
SD

Hi,

determine from the console prompt the device with show dev
boot device. You will get the installation menue.
Exit to shell.
cd /etc/fdmns
mkdir usr_domain
cd usr_domain
ln -s /devices/disk/dsk0g
mount usr_domain#usr /mnt

this should do it.
