ISEE communications ports

I am trying to provide some information for our firewall team.

When ISEE is configured on a client, what port number does it send and receive on?

When an ISEE server communicates with an ISEE client, what port number does it send and receive on?

I'll be nice and say tcp 1402 and 5060 respectively.

Re: ISEE communications ports

When you set the firewall settings you can test the connectivity with:

/opt/hpservices/RemoteSupport/bin/iseeConnectivityTest.sh
and check the results on:
http://hostname:5060

Re: ISEE communications ports

See
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/services/hardware/info/isee_advconfig_security_wp.pdf

For sending messages to HP ISEE is using http
tcp
80
outbound

port 5060 connects to the user interface (internal).

See also
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/services/hardware/info/isee_client.pdf

"If you are not using a Web proxy server, you must open your firewall to allow
communication over port 80. The ISEE client software uses port 80 to send encrypted
data to HP and to receive acknowledgements and information in response to requests
from the ISEE client software."

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: ISEE communications ports

Paul,

ISEE requires http port 80 (with established back). This is configured in your external firewall.

This port is for sending hardware events and MAPs to HP Backend.
When you make the outbound connection, HP will use the same connection and update your Server.

Hope this helps,

Re: ISEE communications ports

I have summarized the port requirements for various ISEE versions, as these are frequently asked by my
Customers in Singapore.

For ISEE Standard Edition v3.95:
Service Server name IP Address Port
Hardware event Passage isee.asiapac.hp.com 192.170.77.107 80 (Outbound)

For ISEE v4.0 Advanced (SPOP):
Service Server name IP Address Port
Remote Support Software Manager isee-updates.americas.hp.com 15.232.64.127 443 (Outbound)
Hardware event Passage isee.asiapac.hp.com 192.170.77.107 443 (Outbound)
ISEE Client to SPOP SPOP Server SPOP IP 80 (Outbound)

For ISEE 5.0 (CMS with RSP):
Service Server name IP Address Port
Remote Support Software Manager isee-updates.americas.hp.com 15.232.64.127 443 (Outbound)
HP Remote Support Client services-isee.americas.hp.com 15.232.48.172 443 (Outbound)

Re: ISEE communications ports

thankyou for your quick responses.
I believe the summary is:-

ISEE CLIENT
RECEIVES port 5060
SENDS port 80

ISEE SERVER
RECEIVES
1402

Re: ISEE communications ports

ISEE CLIENT
RECEIVES port 5060
SENDS port 80

Not exactly.

ISEE sends and receives on port 80.

The user interface (for you) is running on port 5060 - so you don't need to route this outside.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
