LDAP-UX B.05.00 and Kerberos Single-sign-on
For customers who have installed LDAP-UX B.05.00 and have or plan to use the new autosetup utility to join a Windows domain, please read:
As part of the LDAP-UX configuration process, autosetup creates a proxy account that represents the HP-UX host. Because, by default, ADS does not allow anonymous access to directory server data, LDAP-UX needs this proxy account when it queries ADS for name service information. This proxy account is created as a user principal.
However, to use Kerberos single-sign-on features, the host must be represented by a service principal instead of a user principal. If you want to use Kerberos single-sign-on capabilities, HP has a script that can be used to convert the HP-UX host entry in ADS to a service principal. This script is run after version B.05.00 of autosetup has completed. Future versions of autosetup will not have this limitation.
To obtain a copy of this script, please contact your HP support representative and ask for the "host2svpr.pl" script. Mention that the script can be found in the "Crypt" system as part of the "ldap-ux int" product.
This script must be run after autosetup has completed and must be run by root. It will prompt for a Windows ADS administrator's credential and then make updates to the host entry in the directory server as well as update the /etc/opt/ldapux/pcred, /etc/krb5.conf and and /etc/krb5.keytab files.
