Non-Interactive logon account setup

Looking for some assistance on how to setup a non-interactive logon user account for Tru64.

Similar to what was available under OpenVMS.

What are the properties of the user account to make this secure and workable.

Thanks.

Re: Non-Interactive logon account setup

Don't know what you mean by that exactly as I'm not a VMS person. But if you're looking to create an account that directly runs a program when someone logs into that account in a secure way, then you may want to look at how to setup an anonymous FTP account (see the ftpd man page). It could involve creating a chroot enviornment for that user (similar as what is done for the anonymous ftp account).

Re: Non-Interactive logon account setup

Depending on exactly what you want to do with the account, a couple possibilities are to set the password field to an illegal value, i.e. "*Nologin" or to set the shell to an illegal value, i.e. "/bin/false".
