I need to find system parameters for length, characters etc. I remember that there was a file (other than /etc/default/security) that had these listed, but cannot find it in the cobwebbed corners of my memory. Help please......

Re: Password parameters on a NON-trusted 11.0 box
Hi:
The file (name) is indeed '/etc/default/security' but it wan't present in the early releases of 11.0 as I recall. If you don't have one, create it.
The various options that were enabled (within it) appeared in a series of patches. Most notabably:
PHCO_27721
PHCO_34806
Even if you have these patches, it is worth reading their patch notes.
Regards!

Re: Password parameters on a NON-trusted 11.0 box
Thanks for the quick reply. This box will be retired soon, so I'm not doing more than I have to for it. But, it is still under the audit umbrella and I need to show what password limitations are in place.
