Problems with ACLs in 11i
I just loaded 11i, and patched it with latest bundles.
Added it to our omniback 4.0 cell, and the disk agent on the 11i box complains "Cannot read ACLs: ([251] Function is not available)."
So I decided to try using ACLs by hand. They don't seem to work.
# uname -a
HP-UX callisto B.11.11 U 9000/800 2002502879 unlimited-user license
# pwd
/
# touch example
# lsacl example
lsacl: file "example": Function is not available (errno = 251)
# chacl '%.%-0' example
chacl: file "example": Function is not available (errno = 251)
I really don't know anything about ACLs, we have never used them before. What am I doing wrong?

If Microsoft made vacuum cleaners, they wouldn't suck.

Re: Problems with ACLs in 11i
Standard ACL's are not supported on Vxfs.
You need a minimum level of JFS3.3 (version 4 File Systems) and the ACL commands for Vxfs are:
setacl
getacl

Re: Problems with ACLs in 11i
He don't wory about these ACL's.
If you don't use the, there is also no need for it.
perhaps there are some links. doublecheck the files.
There's a patch available now which downgrades the errormessage to minor, so that it won't be showed as an error in your current monitor,
I, ve only the patch for 10.20 and oB 3
but if you look in the web for it, perhaps you get the version for you
SSPUX350_049.shar
good luck
