SFTP: Incoming packet garbled on Windows XP client
Hi ALL
Our systems administrator has installed SSH on our HP-UX 11.0 machines. SSH and SFTP work fine when I am connecting from one HP-UX machine to another.
However, I have a problem when I try to use SFTP from Windows XP to HP-UX. I have tested several Windows XP SFTP clients now. They all give the same error message when I try to connect:
"Incoming packet was garbled on decryption."
(SSH works fine though. It's SFTP which troubles me.) Does anyone have a clou how to fix this?
Many thanks.
-- Gunnar.

Re: SFTP: Incoming packet garbled on Windows XP client
Hi,
What client did you use?
I have used F-Secure SFTP client and PuTTY SFTP client without problems to connect from WinXP to HP-UX 11.00.
Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: SFTP: Incoming packet garbled on Windows XP client
This problem can occur when a login script on the target system (the HP-UX machine in your case) attempts to display text to the terminal. This text gets sent to the SFTP client and confuses it. You'll need to change your login scripts to not display text when a terminal isn't attached to the session.
Hope that helps.
Steve
