Trusted Mode vs. SMSE

Some of my SA's are currently using TM on a partitioned Superdome. We're in the process of getting several more installed this week and I've directed them to use SMSE instead of TM due to to the deprecated status of TM. Once these new systems are set up, what's on the current Superdome will be migrated and the older unit will be re-deployed. As the SA's use golden images to gen new systems (the old/new hw is the same, so can't see any difficulties there), they'll gen them w/TM and then "back-out" of TM using SMH or the trusted system convert command line. My question concerns the auditing portion of the SecurityExt depot/package. Assuming that backing out of TM will also remove the auditing software, is the setup either "exactly" the same and/or similar for auditing under SMSE? Can anyone definitively say whether or not there's any diff between the TM vs. SMSE auditing software?
