aC++ Compilar restrictions in HPUX 11.23

Hi,

 

Can we apply restrictions means temporarily disable / deactivate installed software in HPUX specially aC++ Compilar / any Compilar installed in hpux. When anyone wants to use compilar then we will allow then ha can able to use the Compilar?

Hi:

 

This is an odd question.  Disallowing the use of a compiler suggests that you have no other change management control and policies.  That said, you could alter its permissions to drop the executable bit(s).

aC++ is not in the security business except for enforcement for TMPDIR permissions or licensing business except for the Eval compiler.

 

If you want to disable it, you could swremove it or change the permissions on /opt/aCC/.

Note the latter will affect every user on the system except root.
