auditing specific filesonly

Is there a way to audit only a specfic list of files using the audit system in Tru64 4.0E or 4.0F... I know it can be done in 5.1, but 4.0E appears to be giving me all write() calls instead of write()s to my selected files (which is what I want).

Thanks.

Re: auditing specific filesonly

Hi,

have a look here:
http://h30097.www3.hp.com/docs/base_doc/DOCUMENTATION/V40F_HTML/AQ0R2ETE/CSTPXXXX.HTM#anch_0452

"auditmask -X filename
filename specifies a file containing a list of files for which acitvitiy will be audited."

may be what you need. Since 4.0E docs are not available anymore, you will have to try.

Re: auditing specific filesonly

For 4.0E the answer is no.
For 4.0F the answer is maybe, if you
have the latest patchkit. Some of the
audit functionality from V5.* was
backported to V4.0F and V4.0G patch kits.
