Re: logging ftp sessions

I am probably underestimating your skills ;), but did you rehash the inetd process after making the change to inetd.conf?

# kill -1

Contrary to popular belief, Unix is userfriendly. It just happens to be selective about who it makes friends with.

Re: logging ftp sessions

thanx mobeen for ur quick reply. But as i said i have already modified my inetd.conf file as suggested in those links. Also I can't find any syslog file in the path mentioned in those links. But those links were for HP-unix. Also i checked the syslog.dated file but found no entry of the ftp sessions created thereafter. Hope U can help me this time.

Re: logging ftp sessions

Shashang,
As Evert has suggested have you restarted the inetd daemon on your server after making changes ?

This is necessary for the configuration changes that you made in /etc/inetd.conf to take effect
