CL380 support 72.8 GB Ultra320 harddisk?

We have a CL380 cluster with some array disks of 18.2GB Ultra3 come with it. We just added two new 72.8 GB Ultra320 harddisks to the array. It was OK for a couple weeks. but the cluster file share starts to have some problems last week (failed to bring online).
Anyone knows if there's compatibility problems with the CL380 w/CR3500 RAID controller + new Ultra320 disks?

Re: CL380 support 72.8 GB Ultra320 harddisk?

There was no testing of the 72 GB U320 drives with the CL380, so it is not really an officially supported configuration. However, I do know of people using the newer U320 drives with older controllers just fine.

I would also look at some other things. Since the system ran fine for a while, you can assume that you have all the right drivers, etc. Is there anything in the system Event Logs that gives you nay indication of what might have happened? There may be other things going wrong other than hardware problems with the drives. I would also check to see that you have the latest firmware updates for the CR3500 controller.

Thanks,

as long Controller able support U3 protocol and SCSI bus chain you can move one safe and sound with U320 drives
